You Say Yes

12 May

Check out this week’s SF Bay Guardian! Chas is on the cover wearing a Pushbike Logo Tee! There’s an awesome photo of me on page 13 by local cyclist Matt Reamer! Read the behind-the-scenes story on his blog YOU SAY YES!   Photo taken at Market and Battery Streets. I’m riding the old Guerciotti track bike downtown while working as a messenger for Cupid Courier Collective.  Note the Chuey Brand decal! Speaking of Chuey, he stopped by yesterday with 35 new spring caps! Lots of floral and plaid prints mixed in with solid colored caps.  Local based Specialized gets a spot in there too! Hi guys! :)  Bike culture is indeed booming in San Francisco- hope to see you tonight at the Bike From Work Fashion Show!  -Sarah

Cadence Denim Review- by Zach

19 Apr

Not that long ago I finally buckled down and got some new pants to ride in from the Cadence “Lorem Ipsum” collection. I needed some black pants so I decided to get the Exon denim. As soon as I tried them on, I knew I was in love. At size 30, they fit perfectly around the waist. They were a little tight but not too tight, I figured they’d stretch out eventually anyway. I loved these pants so much I went ahead and got the Raw denim color too. I figured they’d be about the same, but when I tried on the Raw, I noticed a few differences. They’re both great pants, I love them both, but I noticed right away that the fit of the Raw was slightly looser. The waist was about the same, but the leg opening again was a little bit wider than the Exon for sure. It’s not by much, but it’s enough for me to want to roll up my pant leg sometimes when riding, something I don’t have to do with the Exon which is convenient. Both of the extra padded seats are still holding up surprisingly well and the washes haven’t faded much at all. I try not to wash my jeans too often but I did notice the black has faded slightly more than just the raw. The fit is about the same after washing and they end up stretching out to where they were eventually anyway. If you’re deciding on which of these to get I definitely recommend the Exon. Even if black isn’t really your thing, if you like a tighter fitting style to ride in that’s comfortable, sturdy, and flexible, the Exon is it.

—Zach lives in SF. Most of his riding is around town in various alleycats or casual rides outside of the City.

The Cadence Denim is sold out on the Cadence site! We have some pairs in stock at Pushbike. Don’t miss out on these….

Chuey Brand in 7×7

15 Apr

Nice write up on Chuey Brand over at 7×7…..Chuey Brand has been with Pushbike since the beginning, as a vendor and a supporter. Kachusha is one of very few people who knew Pushbike was in the works.  Before I opened Pushbike I did some work for Chuey. Maybe you saw our crew selling caps at SF bike swaps or the Chuey booth at Tour of California. I’ve helped cut fabric in the studio while brainstorming.  He’s a friend and an inspiration. It’s the people like Chuey that make the SF cycling community what it is.  His studio is just a few blocks from the shop and I love it when he rolls by with that BIG SMILE!!! here’s a nice shot of him in the backyard of Fabric 8. Pushbike and Chuey are sponsoring the Bad Babysitter Team for the AIDS/Lifecycle. We attended their fundraiser at Fabric 8.   Chuey and Pushbike logos are on the team jerseys. You should see them flying around town soon!

go to the AIDS/Lifecycle Bad Babysitter team page to donate! Nice Cadence Situation Cap!
